Market communications brings out the Mining Company’s strategy

Agnico Eagle Finland Oy is a daughter company of a Canadian gold producer Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. The company owns the largest European gold mine in Kittilä and also engages in active ore exploration in Finland and other Nordic countries. According to Kauppalehti, in 2013 Agnico-Eagle Finland Oy was the best company in Lapland with a €48 million net income and a €190 million turnover. Agnico and Seven-1 began their co-operation when the mining company was looking for a new communications partner.

The aim of communications for Agnico Eagle Finland was to bring attention to the company’s strategy both internally and locally. The target audiences were the personnel of the company, local people and share owners. The mining company wants to inform people about their mining activities, employees’ occupational safety and environmental and social effects of the mine. Agnico’s communications specialists and Seven-1 plan the marketing communications together so that Agnico is responsible for the content and Seven-1 takes care of the implementation and visual look.
